Usually, becoming parents to many children doesn’t happen in one day, but sometimes circumstances can unfold in a completely unexpected way. This is roughly what happened to Mr. and Mrs. Young. When the woman became pregnant and gave birth to a child, they were already guardians of four little ones. And after a while, Maxine discovered that she was pregnant again. This time with quadruplets!
Meet Maxine Young (30 years old) and her husband Jacob Young (32 years old).
They got married just six years ago, in 2016. Maxine always wanted to take children from an orphanage. They filled out the paperwork and were able to gain custody of two children. Shortly after, they received a call from social services asking if they could take another child from the same family. And Maxine agreed without asking Jacob. Three children was already a lot of work, she knew that, but how was she supposed to split up the kids when fate had dealt them so much suffering?
But that’s not where the story ended, because now there were four siblings instead of three. Soon the phone rang again and their family had a fourth, the smallest sister. Maxine admitted that when the girl came to their family – it was the happiest day. She and the baby girl fell in love with each other and bonded. Her name was Elliot. This happened when the couple was expecting their first son: they had been trying to have a baby for two years, but it didn’t work out, and then they got lucky.
Yes, there were already four foster children in the family, whom they immediately adopted, which meant that they now fully became part of the Young family.
But that wasn’t all! After they officially adopted the four children, the couple found out that they were expecting again. But this was an unusual pregnancy. Doctors were shocked to learn that the woman was carrying four babies! The spouses understood that they already had five children, and now they would have nine! The doctors were worried about Maxine’s health, but in July she gave birth to completely healthy babies.
“I think many people with nine children are in a different age group,” Young said, “We have nine children under the age of eight, and it sounds strange. And eight of our children are under 5 years old! Jake and I constantly laugh about this because someday we will have a child in every middle and high school class.”
So, in our happy family with many children, there are nine children: Aiden (8 years old), Parker (5 years old), Connor (4 years old), Elliot (2 years old) and the four quadruplets.
