48-year-old woman becomes a mother for the first time after 16 unsuccessful attempts

Englishwoman Louise Warneford always dreamed of experiencing the joy of motherhood. She looked with such enthusiasm at happy mothers walking with their children on the street. But it seemed her body was resistant to this wonderful state.

When doctors told the woman that she wouldn’t be able to conceive naturally, she decided to undergo IVF, but there were still many difficulties, and the embryo did not implant. Louise had 17 attempts over time.

Doctors tried to persuade her to leave everything as it was and adopt a child, explaining to her that this was the peculiarity of her body and they were powerless.

But Louise didn’t even think about giving up. She demanded that doctors do what they were supposed to. She spent approximately £80,000 on all attempts and finally managed to beat nature, becoming pregnant at 47. She was under constant medical observation and feared every new day that could bring her new disappointment, but the fetus continued to develop.

“They performed a C-section on me at 37 weeks,” says Louise. “This was because problems with my body were discovered during a routine check-up. Neither the doctors nor I could risk it, and my little William was born. I’m sure he’ll be an outstanding person because his birth was something I had to fight for.”

The woman is very grateful to her doctor, Hassan Shehata, who supported and accompanied her throughout the whole period.

“I want to say to all the women who have despaired and decided to give up trying to become a mother: Believe in your own abilities, and everything will work out for you,” says Louise. “Only because of my persistence, I now live in a full-fledged family, and every time I look into my son’s eyes, I never stop rejoicing that I didn’t give up and insisted on my own. Believe me, it’s worth it!”
